LGH/Crossbow TM

The LGH/Crossbow is a crossbow launched version of the SAA International/U.S. Army type classified Launched Grapnel Hook (LGH). Like the LGH, it is a highly effective means to probe for and defeat tripwire initiated mines and booby traps. In this case, the launch is silent and it is useful in tactical situations where noise discipline is important. LGH/Crossbow is carried in a small, rugged package and is configured for rapid deployment from a standard crossbow.

The grapnel uses the proven geometry of the rifle-fired grapnel hook and the effectiveness against trip wires approaches 99%. The range with a 150 lb crossbow is approximately 50 meters.

The LGH/Crossbow has been tested under terrain and tripwire configurations similar to those specified for the type classified rifle-fired LGH. The mission effectiveness can be expected to approach 99%. The LGH/Crossbow is effective against all tripwires.
